'Hot Pants start fire in apartment'
A man accidentally set fire to his flat when he tried to dry his underpants and socks in a microwave oven.
Firefighters were called to the blaze after concerned neighbours hared a fire alarm ringing.
Residents from the apartment block in Weymouth,Dorset,England,led the man to safety from the 2nd floor after the fire started.
The flames were quickly extinguished by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, because of the smoke , not the smell of the pants! A spokesman said " The fire involved 2 pairs of pants and 2 pairs of socks which he had tried to dry in the microwave.
( Perhaps he had a hot date and was in a rush !)
The spokesman added " All items of clothing were destroyed and there was slight smoke damage to the apartment.
" He also added that you should never put clothing of any kind in the microwave to attempt to dry them"
( I'm sure the owner of the apartment had another set of pants about his person that could do with washing and drying after this !)
